yarraville woman on kill charge

A 21-year-old Yarraville woman has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing a man to death on Sunday night. Emergency crews arrived at a flat in Blackwood Street, Yarraville, about 10.45pm after receiving reports a man had been stabbed. Paramedics treated the Werribee man, aged in his 30s, for more than half an hour but were unable to revive him.

Hobsons Bay police issued more than 130 penalty notices as part of an operation targeting antisocial behaviour at Altona and Williamstown beaches. Operation Foreshore, which started on December 1 and ended last month, included fines for drinking alcohol in prohibited areas, indecent language, behaving in a riotous manner, assault, theft and traffic offences.
