Altona Homestead will host history tours on a double-decker bus from 11am-4pm on Sunday to celebrate Heritage Week. Rides are for 45 minutes and leave from the homestead at the corner of Queen and Pier streets. Gold coin donation.

PACK A PICNIC

Inspired by the meatworkers’ ‘butchers’ picnic’ and celebrating the relationship between industry and art, Footscray Community Arts Centre is hosting a picnic this May Day weekend. Featured will be Snuff Puppets, the Massive Hip Hop Choir, the Riverside Metalworker Blacksmiths, the Melbourne Rapid Response Theatre Team, and The Hacketts. There will also be a union shop barbecue and meat raffle, public soapbox and placard-making workshops. The free picnic is from noon-4pm on Sunday, May 4, on the FCAC Riverside Lawn and Amphitheatre.
