Laverton Community Association is urging commuters affected by broken lifts at Laverton railway station to complain to Public Transport Victoria and request that Metro provide a free taxi from Laverton.
Laverton-bound commuters were advised at the weekend to get off at Williams Landing for lift access.
As reported by the Weekly last week, two of the lifts will be out of order for weeks awaiting parts from China.
Western suburbs Liberal MP Bernie Finn said he would take up the matter with Metro. “In the meantime, it [Metro] will pay for taxis for those who need them,” he said.
