Williamstown: Tapas chef seeks $1.5 million for pad

The Williamstown home of celebrity chef Frank Camorra, owner of edgy tapas bar MoVida in Melbourne’s CBD, is on the market for $1.5 million.

Mr Camorra and his partner Vanessa, also a chef, bought the house in 2009 for $1 million.

It’s no surprise that the kitchen is the heart of the three-bedroom, 483-square-metre home at 39 Osborne Street.

“We renovated the kitchen, as everything was once all wood panelling … so it was a sauna when you’d walk in,” Mr Camorra said.

The kitchen features rustic slate floors and a Spanish wall-tile feature from Mr Camorra’s homeland.

The house has a garden entrance, two living areas, a solar-heated pool and an outdoor dining area.

“We purchased our home five years ago as we instantly adored the picturesque street,” Mr Camorra said.

“Williamstown feels like such a country town because it has a real community feel.

“I remember first stepping inside and feeling the warmth of our home and the amazing natural light. It’s a home where people just feel naturally comfortable straight away and for us it’s redolent with family memories. I love places with character and soul.”

Mr Camorra is selling the house to move closer to his restaurant.

The house was passed in at auction on May 17. It is listed through Compton Green.
