Dom Dudkiewicz blitzes field on Brisbane Ranges

Footscray Cycling Club members headed to the Brisbane Ranges for Saturday’s round eight of the winter road season.

Racers battled over 80 kilometres across the dreaded Granite Road hills in dry, temperate and calm conditions.

With no wind to speak of, A-grade road champion Dom Dudkiewicz eventually launched a demolition of the race.

‘‘When we started the climb towards Granite Road, Josh Zammit attacked and then Miles Da Costa surged, so I bumped it up a bit. When I crested the climb, I realised no-one was behind me so I put my head down and did it solo to the end.”

Craig Robertson finished second.
