COMMUNITY CALENDAR: Western suburbs

Wild times

Damon Smith will channel the wild energy of Jerry Lee Lewis in Yarraville on June 20. Embodying the star’s renowned energy and vigour, Smith will deliver a special 50th anniversary tribute celebrating the infamous Live At The Star Club, Hamburg performance. The show recreates what is hailed as one of the wildest performances in rock history. Smith says the live album was a perfect portrayal of a man “seriously jacked up on his own ego, emotions and only god knows what”. “This show, being somewhat a rock’n’roll train crash at times, is a perfect record full of nothing but unscripted high-energy piano blues.” Smith will perform at Yarraville Live, 135 Stephen Street.
Tickets from $27 to $60.
