Williamstown: Police seek help to nab car keys thief

A brazen thief stole a man’s car keys inside a Williamstown pub before driving away with the car that was parked in the street.

The car’s owner, a 50-year-old Williamstown man, was in a Kororoit Creek hotel about 3pm on June 2.

Altona North detectives have released images of a casually dressed man, wearing shorts and carrying a large bag, who entered the hotel at this time.

The man’s car was found later the same day in Gordon Street, Geelong, with the keys in the ignition.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
