Young African-Australians from across Melbourne’s west came together last Thursday to take part in a Refugee Week basketball tournament. The event at RecWest, in Braybrook, was organised by the Horn of Africa Communities Network, a not-for-profit organisation that helps African refugees in the western suburbs. As well as the basketball game, inspirational speakers from refugee backgrounds shared their experiences and talked about the contribution African migrants had made to the wider Australian society.
