About 2000 people, many of them fans of Neil Young, are expected to attend a music festival, Out On The Weekend, on Saturday, October 18. The day-long event will be the first music festival held at Seaworks in Williamstown.
Headline act Justin Townes Earle will be joined by Henry Wagons, Ryan Bingham, Robert Ellis, Lindi Ortega, Nikki Lane, The Delines, Emma Swift, Raised By Eagles and others at the one-day event.
Organiser Brian Taranto said the festival’s Out On The Weekend moniker came from the opening track on Neil Young’s 1972 album
Harvest. “I reckon the one thing connecting everyone at this event will be that they have all heard Harvest in its entirety,” he said.
Taranto said the festival would offer great food, including dishes by leading “renegade” Sydney chefs and from some of Melbourne’s finest food trucks. “[It’s] not a huge festival, just somewhere to get into it for a day with friends and like-minded folks.’’
Early bird tickets cost $79. For more details, visit www.outontheweekend.com.au
