Footscray campus open day
Victoria University’s Footscray Park campus will hold an open day on Sunday from 10am-4pm. There will be information stands, interactive sessions, food and entertainment, with complementary massages also available to relieve tired bodies. Disposable photography
Get your cameras out and prepare to snap Maribyrnong in all its glory. Colour Box Studio is again inviting residents to take part in its Disposable Camera Project, in which people have access to a disposable camera for 24 hours and are encouraged to take photos of anything that takes their fancy. The collected images will be placed on display at the Ruffian Gallery in Footscray from October 3-12. As well as professional judging, there’s also a people’s choice competition. Colour Box Studio is running a funding campaign to raise money needed to fund the cameras, gallery hire and prizes.

Social housing gongs
Nominations close next week for the Victorian government’s social housing community volunteer awards. The Frances Penington and Molly Hadfield awards recognise public and community housing tenants who have made an outstanding contribution to the community. Nominations close on August 29.
