A diesel spill on the West Gate Bridge during Wednesday morning peak hour has caused traffic havoc.
The spill from a truck occurred near the Williamstown Road exit shortly before 9am, closing two outbound lanes and creating a lengthy build-up of traffic.
One outbound lane remains closed due to diesel over the road. Emergency services remain on site, using sand to try and help clean up the spill.
Drivers travelling through the area are advised to allow extra time.
