Antique collectors and bargain hunters will be in heaven when they hit the Garage Sale Trail on October 25.
Now in its fourth year, the ‘trail’ signals a national day of garage sales.
Plenty of Hobsons Bay and Maribyrnong folk have already registered.
Among them are Altona couple Cat Longmuir and Dale Jackson, who will have more than 400 items for sale, ranging from jetpacks to a 150-year-old pianola – a piano that plays itself.
“Dale’s got all the rolls for it to play all the different music,” Ms Longmuir said.
“I think he’s got about 50 … it needs to be restored.”
Shoppers can see what’s for sale in their neighbourhood and sellers can register a garage sale for free at www.garagesaletrail.com.au
The Garage Sale Trail is a not-for-profit community enterprise founded to promote the reuse of items and reduction of illegal dumping and waste going to landfill.
