West Footscray puppy educators Hannah and Mitch are celebrating Dogtober with Assistance Dogs Australia’s puppy recruit Benji.
The black Labrador is being trained to change the life of someone with a physical disability.
Mitch has been helping Benji learn the tasks he’ll take on in his new role, such as opening doors, picking up mobile phones and keys, and barking when required.
Dogtober is a chance for people to host dog-themed fundraisers to help Assistance Dogs Australia train and place more dogs with people in need.
