It’s hard to believe this was built when Queen Victoria was on the throne because, except for its charming era facade, it’s an utterly modern abode, with clean lines, architectural angles and bright open spaces. Fireplaces, high ceilings (some vaulted) and decorative cornices remain and juxtapose beautifully with light-toned floorboards and an all-white colour scheme. Typically, three bedrooms (two with robes) range down a long entry hall that ends at a wonderful living hub with bifold doors to a private, north-facing decked courtyard. The main bedroom has a chic en suite with walk-in shower, the main bathroom is equally stylish and there’s a cupboard laundry. The smart, all-white kitchen has an island bench and stainless-steel appliances. A changeable floor plan is a bonus and hydronic heating and air-conditioning are welcome features. A beach, transport, shops and schools are within a short walk.
