Golfing fun at fairway by the bay

A great place to host special events and celebrations could be just a chip-shot away.

Kooringal Golf Club is the fairway by the bay where worries melt away.

It is a multiple focus entertainment club in Altona with its core business a private golf club.

“We also have a family bistro and sports bar and function centre,” manager Anthony White says. “We hold weddings, engagements, birthda

ys and events.”

There is an 18-hole championship golf course, and the club also offers TAB and Keno, as well as golf clinics.

“We are a private club with a welcoming community ethic; from social events to family dinners, we embrace the local community,” Anthony says.

“Our bistro is open to both members and non-members to come along and enjoy the great food and pleasant look-out over our magnificently presented golf course.”

Club members and guests are looked after by a 45-strong staff, many of whom have worked for Kooringal Golf Club for 25 years.

Staff are friendly and welcoming, two core values that they hold to steadfastly.

The venue is the perfect choice for large and intimate events.

The club was established in 1946 and the name Kooringal is an Aboriginal word meaning ‘by the water’.

Under the banner “a plac

e by the bay where golf comes to play”, Kooringal offers style and sophistication at value for money.

The picturesque background of the golf course complements function facilities, with full glass windows creating a magnificent backdrop, popular for wedding celebrations.

“Whether you are having a small intimate day or getting all the family and friends together, we can cater to your every need,” Anthony says. “Our head chef and function co-ordinator are proud to present our menu, which offers a vast variety of choices, and can arrange all your specific catering needs.

“At Kooringal Golf Club, we recognise that the most important aspect of any function is the enjoyment and satisfaction of our guests. That’s why we look forward to creating a tailored package that reflects your individual needs and budget,” he says. Kooringal Golf Club is offering a special four-month golf membership for $500.

Kooringal Golf Club, at Wilga Avenue, Altona. Opens 9am-1pm seven days. Inquiries: 9315 0855 or
