Celeste Mucci proved she is a star on the rise in the under-18 competition, recording the best time of 12.55sec in the 100 metres to edge out Athletics Essendon’s Zara Keca by 0.30.

Jeanie King has had a strong start to the season and continued with a win in the U14 1500m.
Meanwhile, in the male line-up, Cosi Mucci was first past the line in the U18 100m with teammate Brad Ticehurst a close third.
Mucci also won the long jump.
Rhyan Thomas out-lasted the field in the U16 1500m.
Daniel Barlow has also been prominent in the opening month and added a first placing in the men’s division 2 1500m.
The stand-outs in the open age women’s events were Linda Close in the 5000m walk and Eleni Gilden, who won the 400m.
