Seabrook Primary School pupil wins NAIDOC Medal

Seabrook Primary School grade 2 pupil Sebastian Weickhardt was last week awarded the Prime Minister’s NAIDOC Medal for a NAIDOC Week colouring-in competition.

Sebastian was among 20 winners chosen from 60,000 entrants statewide for his picture with a reconciliation theme.

In 2011, his elder brother, Andreas, won a Prime Minister’s NAIDOC Medal for a poem.

Proud mum Tatjana Weber-Weickhardt said it was incredible her family had won twice.

“I can’t believe these kids, that they won it again,” she said.

Sebastian’s winning entry was displayed at Canberra’s Parliament House.
