Charges over sex attacks

A Lancefield man has been charged with a series of sex attacks, including an alleged indecent assault at the time of the Melbourne Cup at a Maribyrnong gaming venue. Police allege the man later exposed himself to a child under the age of 16 at a Prahran home and raped a woman in South Yarra the following day. Russell Reid has been charged with rape, assault with intent to rape, an indecent act in front of a child under the age of 16, and aggravated burglary. He appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday and was remanded in custody until January 30.

Police seek jewellery thieves

Police are seeking three men who broke into a Maribyrnong home and stole hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and jewellery. Detectives say the Raleigh Road home was burgled between noon and 6pm on October 10 after burglars forced their way in through the back door.
