Williamstown will this month host the inaugural Macedonian Cultural Festival. Festival committee member Angelo Veljanoski says it will feature Macedonian dance troupes, including Ilinden dance group (pictured) singing, music and food. “It’s basically to show our culture to the greater Melbourne community,” he says. “It’s not targeted at Macedonians only … Macedonians are part of the Melbourne community and I think it would be good for everyone to know who our neighbours are and how we live amongst our community.” Mr Veljanoski, one of four festival committee members living in Williamstown, says there will also be carnival rides and an animal farm for children. All proceeds will go back into the community. The festival is at Commonwealth Reserve, Williamstown, from 10am-5pm on Sunday, November 23. … Goya Dmytryshchak
