Man wanted over assaults

Two Maribyrnong women were among four women indecently assaulted in less than two hours in central Melbourne and the north-west this month.

Detectives with the Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation team believe a man in his 30s is responsible for all four attacks on November 1.

The first assault was of a 46-year-old woman running on The Tan track on Birdwood Avenue about 6am.

The next occurred just 25 minutes later when the offender exposed himself to a 23-year-old at a tram stop in St Kilda Road. He was then seen walking towards Swanston Street.

Just after 7am on the same day, two women were walking near the river at Chifley Drive, Maribyrnong, when the man approached them and indecently assaulted one of them before running off.

Within 20 minutes, a woman walking near Clarks Road, Keilor East, was grabbed and indecently assaulted by a man who then ran off.

Investigators have released CCTV footage and images of the man they want to speak to as part of their investigation.

He is described as being Caucasian in appearance, with a slim to medium build. He was wearing a dark blue T-shirt and dark pants at the time of the incidents.
