Anu in line-up

Legendary singer Christine Anu will take to the stage at Maribyrnong council’s Wominjeka Festival this Saturday. Starting from 2pm at Footscray Community Arts Centre riverside lawn, the festival will include music, art and performance that reflects the Indigenous culture of Melbourne’s west.

Australia Day awards

Council’s annual civic awards will be presented on Australia Day, January 26, at a free public event from 11am-3pm at Coulson Gardens, Chifley Drive, Maribyrnong.

First Australians forum

The Rivers to Recognition forum will continue the collaboration of Western Region Council members to raise awareness about the recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians.
The forum, from 6-8pm on February 8, will be held at Maribyrnong council,
Footscray and will involve guest speakers.
