VTCA: Yarraville Club beats Tullamarine in senior division

It was wickets all round in Yarraville Club’s win over Tullamarine in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association’s senior division.

Leading by 95 runs after day one, the Clubbers quickly wrapped up Tullamarine’s innings, which went from 5-51 at the start of the second day to a tardy 76.

Emmett Bronca took four wickets for the Clubbers, who then went in search of quick runs in the second innings to give the side a chance of an outright win, declaring at 7-86 with a 156-run lead.

Benjamin Pope made 35.

Tullamarine, with its last two batsmen at the crease, managed to hold on and avoid outright defeat, finishing at 9-135.

Konrad Kurta led the bowling with three wickets.

In north division, Spotswood’s first innings score of 120 was enough for victory over Seddon.

Spotwood’s bowlers ran through Seddon’s batting, skittling them for just 41, with Andrew Dickinson taking 6-14.

In its second dig, Spotswood declared at 8-138.

Seddon opener Malith Cooray ensured there would be no outright victory, making 72 as his team finished at 9-160.

Dickinson took four more wickets to complete 10 for the match.

Laverton’s first innings score of 7-231 ensured victory over Sunshine Druids, while Altona North lost easily to Keilor.
