Young parents meet

Are you a parent aged 16 to 25 wanting to meet other young parents? Free groups meet in Laverton on Mondays from 10-11.30am; in Altona Meadows on Mondays from 1-2.30pm; and Sunshine, Fridays, 12.30-2.30pm. The groups organise activities for kids and go on outings to the zoo and other places.

Women’s day

Footscray Community Arts Centre has been working with young women from Footscray City College to discover feminism in poetry, web-comics and feminist blogs. Join a special International Women’s Day conversation in the FCAC Performance Space from 11am-12.30pm, Friday. Cost $30 or $10 concession.

A word on road upgrades

The next Brooklyn community forum is from 6pm, Wednesday, at the Brooklyn Community Hall, Cypress Avenue, Brooklyn. Hear updates from the EPA and Brimbank council about Jones/Bunting roads upgrades and the Brooklyn Evolution Project.

Women in business

This year’s Moonee Valley Women in Business lunch will focus on work-life balance. Novelist, journalist, blogger, TV presenter and feminist Tara Moss will talk of the challenges she has faced, the role of well-being in her life, and juggling her career and family.
