A carefully planned Melbourne tribute to two of David Bowie’s most cherished albums will result in a party celebrating the musical chameleon’s influence, director Ashley Naylor says.
March 21 will see Bowie’s Young Americans and Diamond Dogs albums brought to life on stage by a group of musicians featuring Tim Rogers, Davey Lane and Steven Hadley.
But, Naylor says, this will not be a “reverential, trainspotting” affair.
“The first half will be an acknowledgement of these great albums and then the second half will be an all-in hit-fest,” he says.
“It’s going to be one big party.”
