Art meets its audience in Hobsons Bay

Bucket drummer Jake Rober will join musicians and other street artists in two events dubbed ‘Busk a Move’ as part of next month’s Art in Public Places program in Hobsons Bay.

Buskers will hit the streets of Altona on the weekend of April 11-12 and Williamstown the following weekend.

Art will pop up in public places throughout April, with 150 artists exhibiting and performing at more than 80 locations.

After-dark installations will include #lightuplogan, which will see Altona’s Logan Reserve illuminated with dramatic effects, while an environmental installation, Flight in Altona, will feature hundreds of hand-crafted butterflies along Pier Street.

History will be explored with heritage walks, while this year’s program sees the return of the Williamstown Botanic Gardens painting competition.
