Seddon resident drives climate change message home

A Seddon resident plans to fight climate change one conversation at a time.

Climate for Change is the brainchild of Katerina Gaita and grew out of frustration that those in a position to make change remain resistant, despite a majority of Australians wanting action.

Ms Gaita said a third of Australians understand the urgency of action on climate change, while another third accept climate change is happening but are unsure about what should be done.

She said Australians need to develop a social mandate for governments and businesses to “do what is necessary”.

Ms Gaita said social movements had helped her realise important changes were driven by ordinary people doing simple things, like writing letters to politicians and talking to friends and families.

A crowdfunding campaign aims to raise $30,000 by May 30 to keep the momentum of the campaign alive.
