Finding peace through inner harmony

FLEEING the civil war that ripped apart Burma, all Snow White remembers is her parents telling her as an eight-year-old that they had to hide from the army.

“Because when the army knows where you are, they come to your village, burn everything, and kill everyone,” she recalls.

For the next 11 years, Snow lived in Mae Ra Moe refugee camp in Thailand. It was there she taught herself to play guitar.

After living in Australia for three years, Snow, now 22, is a member of the Music for Harmony group that will perform at today’s Harmony Day celebrations at the Youth Resources Centre in Hoppers Crossing.

The activities start at 4pm.
