Search for dog owner who ‘punched’ dog walker in Altona park

POLICE are searching for the owner of a Rhodesian ridgeback who punched another dog walker at Altona’s Apex Park about 5.30pm on June 6.

The ridgeback mauled a kelpie-collie cross in an off-lead area next to the park.

Police say the kelpie’s owner, 51, of Laverton, kicked the ridgeback to free his dog.

The ridgeback’s owner, aged in his 30s or 40s, punched the other man in the head, knocking him to the ground.

Information to Leading Senior Constable Paul Gudde on 9392 3111.
