Postal van hijacked at knifepoint

A postal worker’s van containing about 100

parcels was stolen at knifepoint in Altona North on Monday.

The driver, a 37-year-old Tarneit man, was accosted while delivering mail in Rosala Avenue about 12.30pm.

Police said a man armed with a knife approached the 2012 Toyota Hiace van and demanded the keys before driving off.

The registration number is ZDQ 511. The car-jacker is described as Caucasian, of medium build with short black hair and clean shaven. He wore a black, short-sleeved top and black pants.
