Cash returns ‘razzle’ to Footscray windows’ dazzle

FIVE Footscray shopfronts have acquired an extra sparkle from a council-funded facelift.

Maribyrnong Council provided a total of $16,000 to the five stores through its Footscray ‘shopfront improvement scheme’, which offers up to $5000 for each upgrade.

Arakan Tech on Irving Street, Duchess Clothing Store on Leeds Street, and Tan Quang Grocery, Pho Hien Vuong Pasteur, and To’s Bakery – all on Hopkins Street – have improved their shopfronts under the scheme.

Mayor John Cumming said the council helped pay for repairs and renovation of shopfronts, new signage and window displays.
