SINGING sensations Sam Stark and Emily-Jane have won Highpoint’s 24th annual Star Search competition with a rousing rendition of The Prayer.
The Cairnlea duo (pictured) won the contest with a take on the Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli hit.
The pair are now in illustrious company, joining previous participants Anthony Callea, Vanessa Amorosi, Sarah Do Bono and Aydan Calafiore from Young Talent Time. Sam and Emily-Jane were singing together for the first time in public, but neither is a stranger to the stage.
Sam made last year’s X-Factor top 40, while Emily-Jane won the 2012 Showcase national dance championships and was second in last year’s national Stage Door competition.
Kellie Sutton won the 3-10-year-old category and Frank Dixon tasted success in the 11-16-year-old section.
Sam and Emily-Jane’s reward is a recording session in a studio.
