Kermit the Frog may have told us it’s not easy being green, but Kingsville Primary School pupils have shown it can be a whole lot of fun.
The pupils, including grade 3’s Edith (pictured), swung into action with a wide range of activities last Friday to celebrate National Tree Planting Day. Projects included planting, mulching and watering 100 trees alongside the school oval, creating a ‘Speak for the Trees’ banner, and wearing green to mark the day.
A group of pupils organised a clean-up of the school grounds and separated rubbish into recyclable, biodegradable and waste.
They then reported back to other students about what they had found, and how to find ways to reduce the school’s impact on the environment.
