THINGS are really sizzling for the Lions Club of Melbourne Vietnamese thanks to the donation of a barbecue and utensils to be used in the club’s community activities.
Club member Be Ha says the group welcomes the gift, donated by the Commonwealth Bank’s Footscray branch last Wednesday to celebrate the centenary of the bank’s first branch opening in 1912.
“It’s a great indication of their sense of community and will be very well received,” Mr Ha said.
Footscray branch manager Tran Truong said it was gratifying to think the donation could make a difference in the local community. “We look forward to another 100 years of supporting the communities in which we operate.”
