WRFL: Unbeaten Eagles swoop on minor premiership

YARRAVILLE-SEDDON was an unstoppable force over the course of the Western Region Football League division 2 regular season.

The Eagles swooped on the minor premiership with their unbeaten record still in tact.

They won their 16th straight game in a 170-point annihilation of local rivals West Footscray at Yarraville Oval on Saturday.

For their scintillating season, the Eagles get the benefit of a rest in week one of the finals this weekend, and have a double chance up their sleeve.

Parkside, who were a clear best of the rest during the home and away rounds, face a tricky qualifying final with third-placed Wyndhamvale in a blockbuster at Avalon Airport Oval on Saturday.

It will be Coburg Districts and Glenorden going at it in the elimination final at the same venue on Sunday knowing there will be no tomorrow for the loser.
