Love cast in platinum

JEAN and Martin Bowyer (pictured) will mark 70 years of wedded bliss tomorrow when they celebrate their platinum anniversary.

Mrs Bowyer, 94, and Mr Bowyer, 97, were married in the Williamstown Congregational Church on September 12, 1942.

After marrying, they lived in Bayview Street, Williamstown, for 52 years before moving to nearby Dover Road in 1994.

They now live at Florence Aged Care in Altona North.

The couple had three children (their son Frank died in 1972) and have six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mr Bowyer worked as a wool classer and is a life member of the Williamstown and Newport Angling Club and Williamstown Baseball Club.

He played cricket for the Williamstown Congs club and was recently named in its team of the century.

Mrs Bowyer worked in the office of the Williamstown Coles Variety store and was a member of Williamstown Hospital Activities Club helping in the opportunity shop.
