FFV: Draw puts Blues  back in the gun

WILLIAMSTOWN and Yarraville Glory played out a 1-1 draw in a Football Federation Victoria men’s state league 3 north-west catch-up game at JT Grey Reserve on Saturday.

For the Blues, it was a result that put them back in the relegation firing line, tumbling to second-last after Sunbury United leapfrogged them with a stunning 5-1 win over Geelong.

In state league 2, Altona City faces a near impossible task of surviving after a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Brunswick City, while Altona East Phoenix’s mid-table life was not affected by a 2-1 loss to Moreland City.

In provisional league 1, Maribyrnong Greens claimed a 2-1 win over Surf Coast, keeping their faint hopes of safety alive for one more week.
