Driver fails to stop at impact scene
A 68-year-old Laverton woman was taken to hospital with serious head injuries after she was struck by a car in Williamstown North on Monday. Police said the woman was crossing the east-bound lanes of Kororoit Creek Road about 1.20pm when she was hit. She was rushed to the Royal Melbourne Hospital by ambulance with bleeding to the back of the head and an injured back. It is believed the vehicle which struck her and another passing car failed to stop at the scene. Detectives are keen to speak to the drivers of both vehicles. Man on indecent act charges
Detectives with the Footscray sexual offences and child abuse investigation team have charged a 54-year-old Footscray man following an indecent act in Williamstown last Friday night. He was charged with 10 counts of an indecent act in the presence of a child, four counts of stalking and one count of indecent assault. He was bailed by police to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday.

Families are being encouraged to bring a rug and enjoy a day of fun and entertainment at Hobsons Bay Council’s annual children’s picnic in Altona next Wednesday. Among the free activities and attractions will be an animal farm, craft, a sausage sizzle, police band, African drumming, jumping castles, giant games and emergency services displays. Held as part of the festivities for Children’s Week around Australia, the picnic will take place between 10am and 1pm at Logan Reserve, corner Pier and Queen streets. Motorcyclist struck, killed
A man was killed in the collision of a motorbike and truck in Laverton North on October 16. It is believed a truck travelling south on Norwest Avenue collided with a north-bound Triumph motorcycle at the intersection of Weddel Court about 1.30pm. The motorcyclist died at the scene.
