Start line looms for Williamstown’s Emma

WILLIAMSTOWN’S Emma Clark is raising funds for needy schoolchildren and families separated by war by taking part in the second annual Sunday Age City2Sea fun run.

The 21-year-old law student is organiser of a 15-member Red Cross Young Humanitarians team.

“A lot of people are a lot more vulnerable than me and so whatever I can do to help them . . . that’s the reason I volunteer,” Ms Clark said. “I don’t have this big aspiration to fix poverty in Africa or anything like that, but if I can help a couple of people along the way, I think that’s really important as well.”

The 14-kilometre run, from the CBD to St Kilda, is on November 11. To support the Red Cross team, visit everdayhero.com.auredcross_ young_humanitarians. Details: thecity2sea.com.au
