FOOTSCRAY Edgewater set the bar a little too low with Carlton comfortably chasing down its target of 263 in the Victorian Premier Cricket at Princes Park on Saturday.
The Bulldogs went into the second day confident their score could hold up, but the Blues took full advantage of pristine batting conditions to win by six wickets with 29 balls to spare.
It was tough going for the Bulldog bowlers, with Andrew McCammond and Michael Keliher the only two to pick up wickets, while the other two dismissals were run-outs.
The Blues got off to a rock-solid start with Trent McCormick (26) and Jake Hancock (60) laying the foundations with an 80-run opening stand.
The Bulldogs, 11th in the standings, return to Merv Hughes Oval on Saturday to entertain undefeated ladder leader Melbourne in a two-day affair.
