Bras on show
Mardi-Bra, a free exhibition of decorated bras to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Research Fund, is being hosted by Seabreeze Quilters at Altona’s Joel Gallery until May 25. Winning entries will be announced at a special event on May 19 at 7.30pm. Tickets $20 at the door.
Volunteer heroes
The Unsung Heroes exhibition honouring Hobsons Bay’s volunteers can be viewed until May 30, from 9am-5pm, at the Hobsons Bay Civic Centre foyer, 115 Civic Parade, Altona.
Migrants welcome
A free ‘Welcoming Carnival’ for newly-arrived migrants will be held on May 20 from 1-4pm at Whitten Oval. There’ll be food trucks, a jumping castle, reptile display and sausage sizzle. The Western Bulldogs Community Foundation is hosting the event with Welcome to Australia.

Walking group
The Maidstone Community Centre is inviting locals to join its walking group. Participants walk Wednesdays 9.30-noon and can return to the centre in Brewer Street for a coffee. Gold coin donation.

The Hyde Street Youth Band performs a celebratory concert on May 28 at 3pm at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Williamstown. Tickets $20.
