Final year art students at Lakeview Senior College are putting their best foot forward with an exhibition at the Caroline Springs Gallery.
The exhibition, which launched last week and will run until November 3, showcases the best work of year 12s in art, design and media studies.
Head of art Naomi Olthof said the chance to show their hard work was invaluable for the students.
“The students selected some of their favourite pieces from their portfolio to show, and it’s of a very high standard,” Ms Olthof said.
“It’s the chance for them to have their work hung in a public gallery, and give them that exposure to the community.”
Melton mayor Sophie Ramsay opened the exhibition, titled
Encore, last Wednesday in front of 100 fans and family. The exhibition includes film, photography, paintings and more.
“Pretty much anything you can think of, we’ve got it,” Ms Olthof said.
She said the exhibition was a good chance for students to take stock.
“This time of year is all about exams, and the pressure of that, and this a good chance to celebrate our achievements so far,” she said.
“They’ve worked really hard to get to this point.”
