Roses felled

Vandals have destroyed roses planted by Hobsons Bay council at Fell Reserve in Seaholme. It follows an incident in January when two mature gum trees were poisoned in Victoria Street Reserve at Altona Meadows. Vandalism can be reported by contacting the council or via the ‘Snap Send Solve’ app.

Trees removed

Sixteen trees on the site of the former Eastona Park Primary School site at Altona North have been removed by the education department. A department spokesman said a report by arborists and an ecologist deemed the trees high risk because of falling branches.
