Pupils from Melton South Primary School have put their art skills to work to create a number of posters for this year’s National Water Week.
Four Melton South pupils received prizes from Western Water for their efforts. The winners received vouchers of up to $100 and a jigsaw puzzle made from their artwork.
This year’s Water Week theme was “Water – the Heart of our Culture”. It aims to encourage more people to understand how water shapes our lives through the natural world, recreation and community values.
Western Water’s customer and community relations general manager Graham Holt, said: “Western Water is supporting the state government’s voluntary Target 155 program, which asks people to use no more than 155 litres of water each per day.”
“With summer approaching, now is a good time to think about ways to conserve water.”
Five hundred primary school pupils across the state entered the competition.
