Melton community members are being asked to share their ideas to make a difference in the local community.
The council has started preparations for its 2020-21 budget and is calling for submissions for initiatives or projects the community would like to see included.
“This is a chance to tell us what you think should be included in the budget, and to put your project on council’s radar,” Melton mayor Bob Turner said.
“We’re kicking off the budget planning early so that all our residents have plenty of time to submit their ideas.”
Community projects that were included in the current year’s budget were completion of the Aintree Children’s and Community Centre, the Macpherson Park redevelopment, design of the Eynesbury Station Early Learning Centre, and Cobblebank Indoor Stadium construction.
Budget allocation requests can be made online until 5pm on Monday, September 30 at melton.vic.gov.au/budgetinput
Anyone making a submission will also have the option to present and discuss their ideas in person to the council.
If you would like to also pitch your project in person, indicate this when making your online submission.
The budget engagement sessions – the opportunity to present your case to council – will be held in Melton on October 8 and in Caroline Springs on October 9.
