Volunteers in funding boost

Emergency service volunteers in the City of Melton will benefit from two state government grants.

Bacchus Marsh SES will receive $8328 towards buying a new motorcycle, while Eynesbury CFA will receive $46,667 for a field command vehicle.

The grants are part of the state government’s 2017-18 Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program, which will distribute $13 million to about 300 emergency volunteer organisations across Victoria.

Member for Western Victoria, Jaala Pulford, said: “Volunteers in the city of Melton do an incredible job keeping the local community safe and they deserve nothing but the best equipment.”

Hume CFA will also receive money to buy a projector and photocopier.

“This funding boost for the Bacchus Marsh SES, Eynesbury CFA and Hume CFA will help volunteers across the district continue their important and life saving work,” she said.

The program will fund equipment, including vehicles, trucks, tankers, watercraft, trailers and facility upgrades.
