Taco Bell Mexican-inspired food and Oporto flame grilled chicken and burgers are coming to Millers Junction Village at Altona North.
The two restaurants are under construction at Hobsons Bay’s biggest shopping and commercial centre development, which will include the municipality’s first major cinema complex. Reading Cinemas is being built next to the Woolworths-anchored shopping centre at 290-298 Millers Road.
The $70 million shopping centre is the last stage of the $250 million Millers Junction precinct, owned and managed by Charter Hall.
It will be Taco Bell’s first drive-through outlet in the state, with it and Oporto each having a standalone restaurant.
Leedwell Property’s Nick Segran, who brokered the deals, said the two heavyweights joined a list of A-grade retailers.
“The desire to secure space within the development for both Taco Bell and Oporto was predominantly fuelled by an already successful dining precinct including Carl’s Jnr, Noodle Box and Smokin’ Joe’s,” he said.
“Despite the challenges of COVID-19, Millers Junction Village has performed well throughout the pandemic period.”
Other retailers include The Reject Shop, Lombards, BWS and TK Maxx, and there are two remaining opportunities for new food and beverage outlets.
Taco Bell and Oporto are expected to open by the year’s end.
