Altona, Williamstown beaches again declared unsafe for swimming

Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) Victoria again declares Altona and Williamstown beach unsafe to swim in.

Altona and Williamstown are among beaches in Port Phillip Bay that the EPA have declared the water quality as ‘poor’.

The rating follows a similar warning given last week, as heavy rain and storms swept across Melbourne, and particularly hit suburbs in the west such as Williamstown and Footscray.

The EPA advises that people should avoid swimming for 48 hours after rain.
