Final push for Millers Road works

West Gate Freeway users are advised to change their plans around upcoming closures along Millers Road’s inbound exit and outbound entry ramps, as part of ongoing works for the West Gate Tunnel Project.

The closures will be part of the final two months of works at the Millers Road interchange, which are starting from Friday, August 19.

The closure of the inbound exit and outbound entry ramps will start on Saturday, September 17 and run until Monday, October 24, while closures along Millers Road northbound under the West Gate Freeway will be in place from Saturday, September 17 until Monday, October 3.

West Gate Tunnel Project acting chief executive Peter Lellyett said the next two months will see the majority of works at the Millers Road interchange as part of the project.

“We’d like to thank local residents for their patience as this work continues,” he said.

The closures will allow crews to complete pavement works, install kerbs and drainage, and finish noise walls, and most of the walking and cycling paths.

Some minor works will be required after October including finishing the walking and cycling path on the eastern side, technology installation, emergency response area, landscaping and other civil works.

Transport Infrastructure Minister Jacinta Allan said the project is now entering an “exciting” phase.
