Natural space for Port Phillip Village residents opened

The carefully curated and maintained greenery and flora at Port Phillip Village was on show as part of a garden open day event.

Held on Wednesday, November 9, the event saw more than 100 community members, village residents and family members attend the retirement village, including Lendlease resident operations head Tamara Rasmussen.

A live performance from a 16-piece brass band, garden tours, a Q&A session with the village gardener and an extensive display of Vintage/Classic cars were among the activities throughout the event.

A highlight of the day was the opening of the Wellbeing Garden, which has been a combined effort of the village gardener Geoff Sampson and village residents.

“The garden is designed to be a place to look after your wellbeing, breathe in the fresh air, hear the birds, read a book or have a cuppa with friends and family,” he said.

“We have worked tirelessly and are so excited to finally declare it complete and open.”
