A TRAILBLAZING Footscray-based program to tackle violence against women has been recognised with one of the state’s top health awards.
Women’s Health West’s action plan to prevent violence against women picked up the prestigious VicHealth award at the 25th Victorian Health Promotion Foundation Awards.
Preventing Violence Together: Western Region Action Plan to Prevent Violence Against Women was named the best project in the ‘Building health through community and local government’ category.
The program links groups and organisations across the western suburbs, targeting the factors causing men to commit violence against women.
